It has been theorized that water holds memory, information, and energy. What happens when we stir the surface of this digital blue skin, watching it ripple and react, connecting us through time and through the dimensions that shape our lives? This artwork explores New York’s collective memory, a tribute to the people and places that have come before us and those who are with us now. Each of us walks an individual path, yet we’re united by shared memories—glimpses from a shop window, moments in the backseat of a taxi, or a passing view across the Brooklyn Bridge. The memories we create today flow in currents all around us, merging into rivers, oceans, and bays, into the vast bank of stored experience. One day, future generations will stir these waters, wondering who we were and finding reflections of themselves, just as we now look back and marvel at those who came before.
